The Book of Isaiah:
Saint John the Apostle quotes Isaiah:
it was that the word spoken by the prophet Isaiah might be fulfilled:
“Lord, who has believed our report,
and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?” (John 12:38)
From the end of the book of Isaiah (chapter 53):
Who has believed what we have heard? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed? (Isaiah 53:1)
Also St. John quotes:
For Isaiah again said,
“He has blinded their eyes and hardened their heart,
lest they should see with their eyes and perceive with their heart,
and turn for me to heal them.” (John 12:39-40)
From the beginning of the book of Isaiah (chapter 6):
Make the heart of this people fat,
and their ears heavy,
and shut their eyes;
lest they see with their eyes,
and hear with their ears,
and understand with their hearts,
and turn and be healed.” (Isaiah 6:10)
