Before His resurrection and ascension to heaven, Jesus commanded us:
"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you; and behold, I am with you always, to the close of the age." (Matthew 28: 19-20)
This proclamation is used for baptism since the beginning of the church. The Holy Trinity exists in the very proclamation which makes a person Christian. The breaking of this baptismal form does not create christians but heretics. And this rule was observed since the very beginning.

The Holy Trinity is declared in the very first verse of the Bible: "In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth, and the Spirit of God was hovering on top of the waters, and God said: Let there be light, and there was light." (Genesis 1:1-3) The Holy Trinity is clear, it pre-existed the world as God is eternal: God, His Word and His Spirit.
Add to it (John 1:1)
- Duetronomy, Our God is one God (Echad). Hebrew word is one in many. The word Moses used to refer to God is Echad, not Ached. (Duetronomy 6:4) It is important to note that Jesus Christ himself declares that there is only one God and he calls this commandment as the first commandment of all (Mark 12:29).
- When God created man (Genesis 1:26) God says let "us" make man in our image. He did not say let me, no let myself, nor let I. He referred to himself in plural.
- Every Sunday Christians recite the ِApostles' creed which begins: "I believe in one God".
- St. James in his letter declares that even demons know that God is one! The Gospel says: "You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe and shudder." (James 2:19)
- Other verses: (John 5:44) (1 Timothy 2:5) (Zechariah 14:9) (Psalms 86:10)
- We don't say "1+1+1=1" nor that "1x1x1=1". We don't say that God is 3 Fathers! Or 3 Sons! The Bible says that God has a Word and a Spirit, in other words God is one in 3 persons. This image is not far from humans who are created in God's image: each one of us has a word/speech/mind and a spirit that are inseperable from his body and who are the same being.
- The word used in the Old Testament to refer to God (Elohim) is plural.
- (Genesis 18:1-5) And the **Lord** appeared to him by the oaks of Mamre, as he sat at the door of his tent in the heat of the day. 2 He lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, **three men** stood in front of him. When he saw them, he ran from the tent door to meet them, and bowed himself to the earth, 3 and said, “**My lord**, if I have found favor in your sight, do not pass by your servant. 4 Let a little water be brought, and wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree, 5 while I fetch a morsel of bread, that you may refresh yourselves, and after that you may pass on—since you have come to your servant.” So **they** said, “Do as you have said.”

Holy trinity: Each person of the holy trinity may call the other person as the only true God.
Also: Jesus calls the Father my God. (Distinction between my God and your God; on the cross)
Distinction between the fatherhood of the Father to Jesus and to us. (We are adopted, God is begotten). منبثق
The father calls Jesus My Lord (where?) قال الرب لربي
هل حقا المسيحين يعبدون اكثر من اله كما يدعي المسلمون ؟
